Introduction to Individual Dining Environment

Indoor Casual Dining Environment

The dining environment is centered around an ocean theme, with wave patterns on the floor and floating ball lights hanging from the ceiling, creating a natural marine atmosphere. The warm wooden tables and chairs enhance the cozy and vibrant feeling of the space. The interior design harmoniously blends nature and the ocean, offering guests a visual experience that feels like being embraced by the sea while dining. This thoughtful design makes the “Ocean Restaurant” a relaxing yet uniquely charming dining destination.

Outdoor Dining Environment

Breathe in the fresh air of nature, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The space is decorated with hanging lights made from repurposed ocean waste buoys, creating a perfect setting for evening gatherings with friends.

🐞 Our staff provides thoughtful service by using natural mugwort incense to gently repel insects and mosquitoes, enhancing the overall dining experience while leaving a subtle, pleasant scent of mugwort in the air.

Ingredient Introduction

Where Have You Tried Gracilaria Jelly?
We incorporate whole foods and locally sourced Gracilaria algae into our ingredients to replace traditional eggs and dairy. The natural gelatin from the algae enhances the bread’s texture, making it fluffy, moist, and chewy, ensuring that those on a vegan diet no longer have to settle for dry and tough bread.

Gracilaria’s neutral taste and color allow the bread to retain its natural aroma, free from the typical seaweed flavor, giving the chef more room to adjust and perfect the taste.

“The Story Behind Gracilaria Bread”
Gracilaria is not easy to harvest, mostly found in northern Taiwan, and is collected by local divers since it cannot be cultivated artificially. Traditionally, it was only used to make Gracilaria jelly, with the leftover algae discarded after filtering, as it was considered to have no further use.

We found this waste regrettable, so we sought to unlock its full potential. After development by Ms. Ya-Huei from Yisu Village, we discovered that adding Gracilaria to dough greatly enhances the texture and perfectly blends with the bread. This allowed us to maximize its value while embracing the philosophy of reducing food waste.

As a result, we became the first in Taiwan to create vegan Gracilaria bread, now one of the signature items at Yisu Village! Don’t miss out on trying this star product if you ever visit Yisu Village!

Black Persimmon Tomato

We regularly collaborate with small farmers in Tainan, and no water is added during the simmering process.

Ingredient Introduction

“Black Persimmon Tomato”
Using a traditional large stove and firewood, we simmer the tomatoes for 4 to 5 hours to create Yisu Village’s signature tomato sauce, capturing the purest flavor of the tomatoes.

The tomato series has always been a popular item at Yisu Village. Instead of using store-bought tomato sauce, we use Taiwan’s oldest tomato variety, the “Black Persimmon Tomato.” Due to the challenges of pest control, this variety is now rarely grown, making it difficult to find. Yisu Village partners with small farmers in Tainan to source this rare tomato regularly.

During the simmering process, no water is added, only plant-based oil, to release the lycopene from the tomatoes. Lycopene helps prevent aging of the skin and blood vessels and has an antioxidant effect 100 times stronger than vitamin E, making it a natural beauty enhancer.
